Yes it is connected to the pedal and a little tough to access. Why does it need to be replaced, no brk. lights?
its a cheap repair approx cost to have it done is less than a 100.00 bill. save the pain and suffering and get it done

Are you having no brake lights or brake lights that stay on, I recently had a neighbor with a stay on brake lights and the problem ended up being not the brake light switch, but a small little circular button almost at the top of the pedal that had broken off, I found it and put it back in a little hole where it fell from and it immediatly allowed the brake lights to turn off, therfore avoiding purchasing a new brakelight switch. Replacing a brakelight switch sometimes makes you feel like a pretzel you may have to do some twisting, and have your tool very accessible, once you get in position, or have it done by the pros(smile)
