living in panama i like to know if its ok to put sae50 non detergent engine oil on 1996 Ford Explorer

ford explorer 1996 4.0 engine. since its ALWAYS pretty hot over here in panama i was thinkin to put SAE 50 non detergent engine oil in. would that be ok?

I wouldn't run non-detergent oil. The engine temperature is regulated with the thermostat, and only recommended weather oils.

It would be better, non detergent will cause build up.
