1996 Ford Explorer Question: living in panama i like to know if its ok to put sae50 non detergent engine oil

ford explorer 1996 4.0 engine. since its ALWAYS pretty hot over here in panama i was thinkin to put SAE 50 non detergent engine oil in. would that be ok?

    I wouldn't run non-detergent oil. The engine temperature is regulated with the thermostat, and only recommended weather oils.

    It would be better, non detergent will cause build up.
