2005 Ford F-250 Super Duty Q&A

2005 Ford F-250 Super Duty Question: Little wrench light came on and went off. What up?????????

It just came on today after using the cruise and was slowing down to exit the freeway. It stayed on until I KILLED IT AND RESTARTED IT. It has not come back on in the last 50 miles. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN! Jackyabilene@aol.com -

The little wrench lamp indicates a problem in the electric throttle system. This is a common problem in 04-06 pickups. The usual repair is a throttle body replacement. There are active TSBs for this problem. Your vehicle should be tested at a shop to verify this. If the throttle system fails (there are multiple back up sensors), it will go into a default mode, that will only allow a high idle, and will not respond to throttle input -

I so appreciatte u taking the time to answer my question. I have read alot of bad reviews of this truck/engine and what I was thinking is a truck with this many miles must have had all that stuff fixed by now. It seems like there is alot of recalls on this year model and I am trying to get a copy from the FORD house of all the warranty work done on it. What is the best/worse case senerio you can think of for my problem? Also one other thing, I pulled up to a red light and it started smoking white smoke(ALOT) and I looked at the gauges and the heat was up but not in the red or anything. I checked it and it was low on antifreeze by a gallon and a half. Filled it and no problems since. Today I had to add another gallon so it must have slipped by me when I bought it. The truck is perfect and the motor and undercarriage is soooo clean it looks new> Really, just like new. Not washed! Any help for an electrician and not a mechanic is greatly appreciated. Thanks man, really. -

Stopped at a stop sign. Then tried to proceed. When I pressed on the gas peddle the engine would not rev-up. It just kept idling. Then the little wrench light came on. Finally I restarted the engine...
