RepairPal Expert Overview:

Ford has recalled certain 1997-1998 Taurus and Mercury Sable vehicles and 1998 Contour, Mercury Mystique, Lincoln Navigator, and Town Car models to provide owners with proper instructions on how to aim their headlamps. If there is a need to adjust the headlamps, during headlamp replacement for example, there is a lack of proper documentation on how to properly perform the adjustment. Ford will mail vehicle owners a new owner guide containing revised aiming instructions.

RepairPal Expert Overview:

Ford has recalled 1997-1998 Expedition, F150, F250, and Lincoln Navigator vehicles due to a possible shift cable malfunction. On some vehicles, the cable may become detached from the steering column bracket. This may prevent the shifter from engaging the "Park" gear, even though it may still indicate "Park," and the vehicle could roll away. Dealers will secure the shift control cable to the steering column bracket and add a tie strap to the connection.

RepairPal Expert Overview:

Ford has recalled certain 1991-1995 Taurus and Mercury Sable models equipped with the 3.8L V6 and 1991-1994 Continental models for an issue with the speed control cable. In cold weather states, the speed control cable could freeze. This could cause the accelerator cable to stick. To deter moisture and ice build-up, dealers will add a rubber boot to the speed control cable.

RepairPal Expert Overview:

Ford has recalled certain 1992-1995 Taurus and Mercury Sable models with 3.8L engines, 1994-1995 Taurus and Mercury Sable models with 3.0L engines, 1992-1994 Tempo and Mercury Topaz models with 3.0L engines, 1994 Tempo and Mercury Topaz models with 2.3L engines, and 1992-1994 Lincoln Continental models in certain cold weather states for an issue with the engine electric cooling fan. During high winds, low temperatures, and drifting snow, the fan could become blocked or frozen with snow. This could cause the fan not to rotate and ultimately overheat. Dealers will install a harness with a circuit breaker to protect the fan motor from overheating.

RepairPal Expert Overview:

Ford has recalled certain 1996 Taurus, Mercury Sable, and Lincoln Continental vehicles for a concern with the transmission park mechanism. In some vehicles, the park pawl is not rotating as necessary to enter the park gear. This could cause the vehicle to roll out of control. Dealers will inspect the park pawl shaft for rotation. Shafts with restricted rotation will have a shorter shaft installed that will not restrict rotation.

Ford has recalled certain 1996-1997 Taurus, Windstar, Mercury Sable, and Lincoln Continental vehicles for a concern with the park mechanism in the transmission.
