The parking brake may not fully engage as intended when it is applied. This could result in the vehicle rolling away.
The electric power steering assist may shut down, causing difficulty steering and controlling the vehicle.
The vehicle's interior door handles may cause the doors to open in the event of a crash.
Engine power to the drive wheels may be unexpectedly lost, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. Additionally, this failure may cause the vehicle to roll away if the parking brake is not applied despite the transmission being placed in 'Park'.
The child safety locks can disengage without warning, allowing one or both of the rear doors to be opened from the inside unexpectedly.
