Lincoln MKX Recall 11V128000
Body Control Module May Overheat
Electrical & Lights, February 21, 2011
RepairPal Expert Overview
Our Quick Take:
There's a computer called the BCM (body control module) that helps to manage all of the other computers and electronics in your vehicle. Ford has found that some of these BCMs can overheat and potentially cause a fire.
What Should You Do?
We at RepairPal have designated this a high priority recall; the BCM may overheat without warning. Please contact your Ford dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
The body control module (BCM) may develop an internal electrical short. This may cause the BCM to overheat, which can lead to a vehicle fire. Dealers will inspect the BCM and replace it as necessary. This recall is expected to begin on March 7, 2011. The Ford recall number is 10S14.
