Our Quick Take:
71 vehicles are being recalled because the locking function of the liftgate does not work as designed.
What Should You Do?
Ford notified owners of affected vehicles in November 2010. If you are experiencing problems locking the rear liftgate, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It’s helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call. The Ford recall number is 10C14.
During assembly the electronic module settings were not configured correctly. As a result, the locking function of the rear liftgate will not work as designed. The liftgate may not lock using the interior lock switches or the remote buttons. Dealers will upgrade the software in the affected control modules as necessary to correct this concern.
