First check the oil level and top up if required. If the oil light is on there is a good chance you have no oil pressure or the oil pressure switch is bad. If you put a drain pan under the engine, disable the ignition so the car cannot start, unscrew the oil filter and get a friend to crank over the engine you should have oil gush out of the "hole" where the oil filter screws on,if you don't there is a serious problem, oil pump?
Do not drive the car or start the engine if you do not have oil pressure the engine will be damaged.
