The same thing happened to me. I took my car to Lifetime the middle of February 2011 to get my ball joints fixed and 3 1/2 months later my car started making a loud noise so I took it back to the shop to have it reinspected on June 5th 2011 so it would be there when they open up on Monday morning. My husband called the shop on June 6 2011 to check the status of my car and the first thing they told him was that I needed a ball joint because the old one had popped out. So my husband replied what do you mean it needs a ball joint, these are new ball joints, you guys just replaced them in February. My husband then supplied him with the invoice number, the date the work was done, and the last for digits of my credit card. Throughout the entire conversation they continued to deny they ever did the work so my husband asked me to take all of the records we had to show that they actually did the work. I went to the shop and showed them the receipts for the work that they had done and the warranty for the part. The next day they informed us that the warranty does not cover my part because of the spindle was bad. Now as a result of the ball joint popping out my cv joint is damaged and the entire trans axle needs to be replaced along with the ball joint and spindle, and of course they refuse to take responsibility. I spoke with several mechanics including a ford certified mechanic and an insurance rep and they all said the same thing... Never ever should a newly installed ball joint pop out, and if it does it is a result of incompetence and poor craftsmanship... That being said my husband and I are taking them to court for the repairs.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE OTHERWISE YOU'LL REGRET IT!!!!!!!!!
This shop has been in our community for years. We have gone there along with family members and friends to have our cars repaired. LIFETIME had put on our converter, our service engine light went on and the mechanic told it was the wrong converter for our car , it was still under warranty. The manager, Jim would not honor the warranty. We had all the receipt, it was still within the time limit, but LIFETIME Muffler would not honor their work. DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP
