I have done some research on this particular transmission and have learned that many people have had spent a lot of money on repairs when it wasn't the transmission it self.... I only have 2 codes showing up in my computer 12 and 21 one is the O2 sensor and the other says that the battery has come undone in the last 5 sec .... can either of these cause it to go into LHM and if so I correct these problems will the computer register it automatically or do I need to have them wiped off of the code list

When you say Limp Home Mode for your transmission, what exactly is it doing or not doing, is it stuck in 1 gear? Neither of these cods should effect your transmission, however the oxygen sensor code will hurt your mileage.

LHM it will for no reason shift down into 2nd gear and stay locked in 2 wont shift down to 1st just stays in second it is a warning basically that wont leave you stranded it allows you to cripple your vehicle HOME or to a shop.. it is equipped with the Ultradrive 4 speed and as stated before it was the first year using an electronically controlled tranny which all that I have read says that something as small as a bad sensor in the tranny or motor can cause it to go into LHM but none of what I have read has said the most common problem or anything else just that the transmissions were commonly replaced and at the cost of a bad sensor seems to be a lil over kill it still drives well and I am still getting 25 to 30 miles to the gallon so I don't want to junk it for something else yet
