If nuts securing the rear tie rod are not tightened properly during service, unwanted movement and rust can develop leading to component failure. Failure of the rear tire rod will cause an abrupt change in the vehicle's alignment. This could lead to a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
