Lexus GX460 Recall 10V159000
Update For Stability Control Software
Suspension & Steering, May 18, 2010
RepairPal Expert Overview
Our Quick Take:
When the vehicle is driven through a sharp turn at high speed, a software problem with the salability control system coud allow a skid to occur when it should not.
What Should You Do?
Toyota notified owners of the affected GX460s in May 2010. If you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It’s helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call. The Toyota recall number is ALB.
The 2010 GX460 is equipped with an electronic stability system that is designed to help prevent a skid from occurring if the vehicle is driven too fast for the conditions when negotiating a turn. Due to a software concern, these vehicles may skid when they normally would not. If this were to occur under certain conditions, a rollover crash could result. Dealers will update the stability control software to correct this concern.
