2004 Nissan Altima Question: leaking tranny fluid from the drivers side. level seems to be ok

 Rookie

power steering rack and pinion boot was leaking but it is red tranny fluid all over the frame. long trip produced more. level in tranny seems to be fine

    good but dirty. I will repair this leak with a new R and P or a rebuild kit. The car has 140 K. I thought it was all steering fluid but it is too red.could it have been overfilled when i had a tranny service done last month ? it has only leaked on this long trip at high speed. My concern is the amount it sprayed under car and inside wheel well! The tranny would downshift quite a bit at high speeds when I accelerated.....other wise the tranny seems fine.
