thank you for your quick response.not leaking through the cover. From front to back, the 3rd and 6th are the only ones that are dry. What do you think? also, what is the firing order?

MasterFiring order is 1,5,3,6,2,4; number 1 being the front of the engine. I haven't seen Bret's answer to your question but what would be the valve cover on other engines is actually the upper part of the cylinder head on this B6304F2 engine. The spark plugs are down in a recess in the center of the cylinder head and have "O- Rings" around the spark plug tube wells, if the O- Rings fail oil can enter the plug well area. To replace these seals needs to be done by a repair shop that specializes in Volvo or someone that has Volvo training and special tools.
