Question: Leaking on passenger floor

Rookie

The passenger floor of the car gets soaked when it rains. A mechanic has said that the dash needs to be removed to find the exact location and to repair the leak. He has quoted me 'around' $900. That seems very high to me. Any help would be appreciated.

If leak is water then may be leaking at w/s and can be difficult to find unless can see it come in, if is behind dash then could be firewall seals, etc., could be the door seal, see if can have someone look from the inside and run water hose all over on the outside and see if can see. May be a difficult diagnosis.

There is a technical service bulletin out from Saturn about finding and repairing water leak(s). Based on the location - it could be repaired without removing the dash.
If you post an e-mail I can send you the TSB. It might help to positively identify the location and also with the repair.
