I get that distinctive nausiating sweet smell every time I use the heater on my car so I know there is a small leak at or very near the heater core. Where and how hard is the core to access?

Its located behind the dash and the repair time is 5.2 hours and doesn't include AC recharge if you have AC, Its a big job that probably should be done by a shop

i have done this job & it would be hard to do without some of the expensive tools i own. there are many small plastic clips & hidden screws that are difficult to undo or even worse you could break something. but do check to see if your heater hoses may be leaking were they attach to the heater core outlets.
