I have an 01 530I with 93,000 miles. This afternoon, I noticed antifreeze in the garage. The radiator was replaced at approximately 60,000 miles. Over the last 3 days, my heater has worked, but it does not blow hot air out of the main vents. Could these two be related? Also, I continue to have my car serviced by the local BMW dealer; however, what criteria should I use in looking for someone else (i.e., not a dealer) so the repairs will not be so expensive.

MasterI'd take it in to a BMW specialist ASAP. BMWs have problems with their cooling systems--not uncommon at all, but it's important to stay on top of it and fix them, because letting the problems go can lead to huge bills.
As far as finding an independent shop, I'd check for a shop that's a member of the Bosch Service Network, like this one: http://repairpal.com/keller-import-service-incorporated
