Get a GM specialist to put a pressure test on the cooling system and find the leak. If you're overheating at all you'e going to do some damage if you keep it up. Car repairs, like health care expenses, don't go down when a car or person gets older, they go up. It's more expensive to maintain an old car than a new one but new vehicles are expensive so we put up with it.
