Question: leaking anti freeze

leaking anti freeze and told the timing chain is in the was to repair

    It is not abnormal for a 3.8L V6 from that era to have a leaking timing cover. The cover must come off, gasket material cleaned and surfaces prepared, and then it needs resealed.

    PROBLEM is...the rest of the engine is succeptable to lots of different things, such as head gasket failure. I would hate to suggest doing a timing cover repair when the rest could be in question too.
