About a week ago I noticed a strong gas smell when I was getting into my car, I backed up and saw a puddle where I was parked...smelled like gas. Had a guy check my tank and said there was a hole on the top of it. Now when I'm driving, my car is "putting?" and everytime it does this my gas gauge goes down almost a whole line. What do you guys think?

The fuel pump amd fuel tank sender unit is in the gas tank, this car will soon set a Service Engine Soon/Check Engine Light code for evaporation emission failure. The problem needs to be investigated and repaired as son as possible from a safety and reliability view point as it is obvious the car will soon brake down as a result of this problem.
