What Should You Do?
Land Rover will contact customers of affected vehicles beginning October 24, 2005. If you have not been contacted, smell fuel or experience rough running, and feel your car falls under this recall. You should contact your local dealership. It is helpful to have your VIN Vehicle Identification Number ready when doing so.
Summary:
Some sport utility vehicles may have fuel tanks that contain a out of specification breather pipe. This may result in deterioration of a grommet and result in pipe detaching from tube. When the Fuel level is above the the level of the joint, fuel may enter the breather pipe.This may cause rough engine running, stalling, hard starts, hesitation, and misfires. If the Vapor canister becomes saturated, the fuel may leak and cause a fire hazard. Dealer will replace fuel tanks free of charge. The Land Rover recall # is P001
