Certain vehicles may fail safety standards. It may to remove the ignition key with the transmission not in park. This could result in a crash due to unintended vehicle movement.
The ABS and/or the brake pad warning light may illuminate, and/or extended brake pedal travel along with reduced braking efficiency may occur.
The automatic transmission may not properly engage in park when the shifter is placed in the park position.
On 548 vehicles, the left hand, second row seat belt buckle may not hold in the event of a crash.
