Lance was very helpful, and very thorough... after I complained. I had the car there for two times to replace an oil cooler and one of the ignition coils. It took a full week to replace the coils and thermostat. On the way home, I found it had developed a major coolant leak - the coolant was gone in a few days. It took another half week to find and replace the leak, which didn't develop until AFTER I had it serviced.
They have a policy to not shuttle customers to and from work more than 8 miles. I live 3 miles away, but work 12 miles away, so I won't be using them again.
I experienced a catastrophic failure of a front wheel bearing that took out the brake caliper, pads, ABS sensor and half-axle... not to mention the wheel bearings. I called Lance's and they recommended a tow service that was on the list I had come up with from AAA's website. They called, as promised, with an estimate and broke the news to me gently that the repair was going to be a bit pricey. Having done my research here at RepairPak, I was prepared for the worst and they came in several hundred dollars lower than I had expected... of course, the prices at RepairPal are for single repairs and you save money by having multiple repairs done with a single tear-down but nonetheless, they were on the lower side of the average repair costs. I could have gone to Les Schwab or another local repair shop but after doing my homework and asking my friends, Lance's was the clear choice. One thing about Lance's that you don't see advertised too much is that they are a NAPA repair facility too. That earned points with me as I prefer NAPA for all of my "do-it-yourself" care care needs.
