Question: Knocking/Pinging noise coming from the engine

My van has 109000 k miles, is driven like a baby and from 2 weeks till now, a pinging/knocking noise can be heard when slowly increasing speed from a almost a stop. no overheatting, started using super 91 gas and put some octane booster, it gotten better but I still hear it,, suggestions??

What ended up happening with the pinging? Did you get it looked at by a shop? Was the check engine light coming on when it was pinging?Flag ThisLike | 2 people like this2 -

soccerdadaz, October 29, 2009, 12:31ReplyRookiethe is no engine light on, no one has check this noise yet as 10/29/09 but I can say the noise has fade out a lot since I started using the octane booster I can hardly hear it any more, I think it might be a case of really bad gas since then I have change gas stations and it seem to improved thank you for the response SR , will keep you posted
