2003 Honda CR-V Question: knocking noise in right rear quadrant

 Rookie

We just purchased a 2003 CRV. There is an intermittent knocking noise coming from the right rear/side quadrant. It is a soft knock and is not rhythmic at all. It is not affected by braking, turning, accelerating or decelerating. It happens occasionally with spans of a minute more or less between knocks. Any help would be appreciated before we take it to a mechanic. Thank you

    I would check the exhaust system to see it is not damaged or have any rubber hangers missing. I forget if there is a sway bar at the back of that year CRV but look under the CRV and see if anything is obviously detached or damage due to contact with road debrise.

    check sway bar links or rear bushings dats after u've done a rear differential oil change with OEM Honda Dual fluid.
