Question: knocking in engine

this car is listed at $500 dollars would it be wise to purchase and have fixed? I do not know what the engine knock is.
Engine has a knock in it. The car isn't in that bad of shape for its years.

Lot of options, would make a nice fixer upper.

    Usually a knock is a bearing problem or piston and could be a major repair, a used motor installed is about 2500. a re built motor is about 3500-4000 installed.
