Kia Soul ProblemsNo Sound from Speakers
The navigation unit in the Kia Soul may suddenly stop playing audio from all speakers. This includes sound from CD players, radio, navigation, satellite radio, and telephone calls. All other features may still function properly.
This fault requires no parts replacement, and is a software glitch that can be rectified by a 'hard reset'.
To perform the hard reset, simply disconnect the vehicles negative battery terminal, wait 15 minutes, and reconnect the negative battery terminal.
The manual transmission may be difficult to shift into 1st gear. Our technicians tell us that a revised shifter lower skirt is available to correct this concern.

Kia Soul RecallsSteering Gear Failure
The steering linkage may separate from the steering gear due to a loss of adhesive. Dealers will inspect and if necessary replace the pinon plug that secures the pinion gear free of charge to resolve the concern.
The accelerator pedal may bend and fracture, making it difficult to accelerate the vehicle. Dealers will add a supporting rubber underneath the pedal stopper free of charge to resolve the problem.
In the event of a crash where the side curtain airbags are deployed a headliner plate can detach, increasing the risk of personal injury. Dealers will correct this concern by adding industrial adhesive strips to secure the headliner plates.
