Key will not work on 2002 Cadillac Eldorado

Everything was fine the last time it was driven. Went to leave in the car today and it will not start. Display reads Starting Disabled Remove Key

Try another key if you have a spare as sometimes the chip on the key itself will fail and the ignition system won't work because the theft deterrent thinks someone is trying to steal it and if that doesn't work you will need to go to Cadillac parts dept and have another made

Try cleaning the key with alcohol,& if that doesn't work use a fine file & run it over the key 2-3 times. If that doesn't work you will need a new key.

When i turn the key, there is no response. The battery level is 12 V. Plenty of gas, all other electrical items working.
I tryed to slide a cd in, it will not go in. Then I got it in then it just sat in the player and played nothing. I had to turn the key off to get it out of the player. Can the CD player be repared?
