2005 Chevrolet Aveo Question: Key Stuck

Sounds like a common failure on these aveo's call the dealer and see if they have a revised shifter assy available. - hemicuda
A temporary fix is to pull out the fuse for the radio, its a common problem with the btis. In order for you to get the car out of park you may also have to use the shift lock - Visitor
You can remove the key by pushing shifter all the way to the left and turning the key at the same time, it will release. This problem is caused by a bad solenoid in the shifter assembly and is covered under the powertrain warranty. - Visitor
it just happened to my car. It happened to be the solenoid. - Visitor
gear shift problem. Take it to the dealer immediately or have it towed. It will cost you $300 or so to have that replaced. - jedisolo21

The key gets stuck in the ignition and the gear can be placed into drive. However,my car can start and the gear will not come out of park. Please send me notification ASAP. Thanks, Sherry
