1997 Oldsmobile Achieva Question: key cylinder

how much should it cost to replace the key cylinder and get it re=keyed? My key got stuck in the ignition.

    If your key will rotate in the ignition to the "crank" position is will be much easier to remove the lock cylinder and therefor take less time. If the cylinder will not turn there will be some drilling necessary to release the lock cylinder which can damage the lock cylinder housing which I believe is part of the ignition switch. At minimum for the lock cylinder and coding you should expect to pay $350 - $400 parts and labor. If you need to add the ignition switch you can expect to add $200 - $225 to the cost of the lock cylinder repair.
