Question: key code for 1990 toyota corolla

key broke off in lock to gas cap which is same as ignition and trunk.please how may i obtain key code for vehicle without having to dismantle passenger side lock. dealership only goes back 10 years. locksmith way to expensive! thank you. sincerely lynda

    Can you access your trunk? I'm not super familiar with keys but can they use the trunk lock? or the glove box lock perhaps?
    Is it possible to use some needle nose pliers or forceps/tweezers to pull the broken key out of the lock?
    My friend said he has a AAA (Triple A) plus membership and they will send a locksmith if you need one. I don't have the plus membership but I thought I'd throw it out there just in case

    I'm sure you are back on the road by now, but I would have brought the gas cap with the broken key in it, to an old fashion locksmith (look in your local yellow pages). Old locksmiths are resourceful and are very reasonably priced. A broken key in an ignition switch, door lock, or gas cap is an easy task for them, and much cheaper than replacing the lock assembly.

    YOU DONT NEED A CODE TAKE THE VIN # IT IS IN THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD TO A TOYOTA DEALER AND THEY WILL MAKE U A NEW KEY
