Question: Key broken off in ignition of 1984 Dodge Dakota. How do I fix it?

A friend borrowed my 84 Dodge Dakota V-6 4x4 and broke the key off in the ignition (he was trying to put it in upside down, I need smarter friends). I have the replacement part but have no clue how to remove the broken cylinder. Any suggestions?

    First thing to try is to grab the piece of key with a needle nose pliers and pull it out and if it won't come out you'll need to have a shop handle this because these are tricky even for a trained tech
