1995 Nissan Maxima Question: key broke off in the ignition

If there is still enough key left in the ignition to be able to get the switch to the accessory position the ignition switch can be taken out of the steering column and replaced or be brought to a lock smith.
Call your local locksmiths and see what they would charge to come out and attend to the problem. They will probably be cheaper, if not you will have to have your car towed to a auto repair shop and have them remove the ignition lock.

sometimes if there's a little bit of the key sticking out, you can grab the key stub with a needle nose pliers and pull the broken piece out and bring both pieces to a locksmith and have them make a new key, If nothing is exposed then goes with autotechpat's instructions.
