Jim has surrounded himself with a highly qualified team (the technicians alone have over 150 years of combined experience), most of whom are ASE certified. In fact, this shop has the honor of receiving the ASE Blue Seal of Excellence, one of only about 1,500 shops nationwide. Established in 1976 Same lacation in the Nob Hill district for over 25 years! Jim is currently President of the local chapter of ASA (Automobile Service Association of Central NM.) and serves on the ASA Consumer Advisory Board as well as V.P. of the NAPA AutoCare Group of NM. We have been a member of the BBB for many years.

Actually I have been going to Jim's Automotive for at least fifteen years, and they are extremely knowledgeable. They fix the car the first time. If there is any problem, they take care of it, but I've never had a problem. They are very fair. They are very accommodating. It is a good repair experience. I do recommend them to anyone that needs automotive service. I actually recommended them to a lady that I knew. She was a receptionist. She actually had an older car, and had been having trouble finding someone to even find what the problem was. She took it in to Jim's, they fixed it, and she was happy as a clam.
Overall they were just very helpful. I couldn't afford the repairs that I needed, so I couldn't get my car fixed. I'm confident that If I had the money, it would have been a good repair. There was one associate, his name was Mike, and he was helpful in trying to help me find another vehicle - a used vehicle. He told me where to look for another vehicle that would cost about as much as the repair. Overall, I was really happy, and if I need something else, I'm more than likely to go there first.
Great Experiences – over many years!
I have used Jim’s for 20 years and word of mouth is how I found them before the internet was born. I have never felt the need to question repairs. Being female, that says a lot. I have complete trust in their guidance and enjoy Jim and Mike’s educational explanations, accompanied by show and tell using layman’s terms I can understand. I live out of town, so I “camp out” with them and I have seen both of them in action on the phone and at the counter. I have been impressed with the professionalism that is delivered. I have witnessed a few “difficult” customers over the years and I have only seen polite, controlled responses. I have a hard time believing some of the negative reviews and find them questionable. Possibly posted to the wrong Jim’s, certainly not the one that I have come to know and trust.
Jim is active in at least one trade organization that I know of as president. You don’t get to the top of large groups unless you are liked, responsible and know how to lead.
I place my trust in Jim’s Automotive and his staff, I will as long as they are in business!
