Are there any codes stored in the powertrain control module? Codes stored may help isolate the cause of your problem. It sounds very much like an electrical issue being that the fault will go away after cycling the ignition. If there are no fault codes stored then it may be necessary to have a technician test drive with a scan tool in order to try and see if something is out of spec when the problem occurs. - Russ
its code 1811, slipping transmission, usually happens after you drive a long time then pressure builds up and does a long shift which is the jerking, i just bought my car and its already in the transmission shop to be rebuilt. You can call a buick dealer like I did and they can explain the code in more detail. - Visitor
