jerk in steering on 1997 Chevrolet 1500 Pickup

Why does our pickup jerk when you make a right turn on the highway. It feels like you lost the steering for a few seconds. Very scary. Doesn't always do it, sometimes for a couple weeks and then goes away for a week or two.

Have the stabilizer cylinder checked, these only cost around $59 and if it is defective it could cause steering problems

I know what this is. I had the same problem and found a great mechanic that knew what it was and fixed it for me. I havent had the problem since. It is the upper control arm bushings that cause the problem.
