Recalls

The clockspring is a coil of wire located behind the steering wheel, it allows the steering wheel to turn and still maintain the electrical connection between the steering column and the rotating steering wheel. Certain right hand drive models are being recalled because the circuit inside the clockspring could break. This could result in illumination of the airbag warning light and/or no-deployment of the driver's front airbag in the event of a crash. Dealers will replace the clockspring and add a steering wheel dust shield to correct this concern.

On these vehicles, the fuel tank is divided into two sections. A system using a transfer tube is used to move fuel from the secondary side to the primary side where the fuel pump is located. This transfer tube may have been improperly manufactured causing the transfer of fuel to be interrupted. If this condition causes the primary side of the fuel tank to run dry the engine will stall, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the fuel tank transfer tube in affected vehicles to correct this concern.

On vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission, the transmission skid plate can collect debris. Heat from the catalytic converter could ignite the debris without warning, resulting in a fire. Dealers will replace the skid plate with a skid bar to correct this concern. The Chrysler recall number is M22.

Certain vehicles sold in, or currently registered in, states where road salt is commonly used to de-ice the roads are being recalled because the rear suspension lower control arm may fracture due to excessive corrosion. A fracture of the rear lower control arm may result in a loss of vehicle control, which can lead to a vehicle crash. Dealers will replace the rear lower control arms on all affected vehicles originally sold in, or currently registered in the National Highway Traffic & Safety Administration (NHTSA) defined "Salt Belt" states. The Chrysler recall number is L27.

667 vehicles equipped with a 3.6L engine are being recalled because a connecting rod bearing can fail due to debris inside the engine block. Connecting rod failure may lead to engine seizure, which can increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the engine to correct this concern. The Chrysler recall number is L33.
