The engine may crank over with the clutch pedal not depressed, or the engine may not crank over with the clutch pedal depressed. The clutch ignition interlock switch will be replaced to correct this problem.
The engine may stall without warning due to a faulty fuel pump relay. Dealers will modify and replace the fuel pump relay free of charge to correct the problem.
The airbag control module can fail prematurely due to electrical noise beyond the tolerance it was designed for. As a result the front airbags, side airbags, and/or seatbelt pretensioners could deploy inadvertently while the vehicle is being operated, increasing the risk of personal injury and/or a crash. Dealers will replace the airbag control module and front and/or side impact sensors as required to correct this concern.
The heated outside rear view mirrors may develop corrosion in the wiring connectors that supply power to them. This can cause a fire hazard. Dealers will modify these wire connectors to provide a separate power feed free of charge to resolve this concern.
The alternator can fail, causing loss of electrical power and possible engine stalling. Dealers will repair the vehicle free of charge (the repair procedure is not available as of the time of this writing).
The ignition key may stick between desired positions in the ignition key cylinder mechanism, and may move between positions while driving. This can cause the engine to shut off and electrical accessories to stop operating. Dealers will repair this concern free of charge (a repair procedure is still under development as of the time of this writing).
The fuel pump relay inside the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM-7) may fail, causing the vehicle to stall without warning. Dealers will replace the relay with an external one free of charge to resolve the concern.
While operating the vehicle the driver may hit the ignition key with their knee, accidentally moving the key out of the run position. If this were to occur the engine would turn off, affecting various safety systems and increasing the risk of a crash and/or personal injury. As of this writing, the remedy for this recall is still under development.
The wiring for the vanity lamp in the vehicle sun visor may develop a short, causing a risk of fire. Dealers will inspect and repair any damaged wiring, as well as install a new sun visor that properly routes the wire free of charge to resolve the problem.
The power brake booster in these vehicles uses vacuum developed by the engine to provide power assistance to the braking system. Certain vehicles are being recalled because the shell of the vacuum brake booster can corrode and allow water to get inside. The water inside could freeze and limit ability of the brake booster to provide brake assistance. This reduced braking ability can increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will test the brake booster and replace those that fail, and all vehicles will have a diverter shield installed on the brake booster to prevent this from occurring in the future.
