Right Hand Drive Vehicles May Illuminate the Airbag Warning Light
Body, Interior & Misc., November 1, 2011
RepairPal Expert Overview
Our Quick Take:
Right hand drive vehicles, most often used by the Post Office, may illuminate the airbag warning light due to an electrical issue in the steering column.
What Should You Do?
Owners of affected vehicles will be notified during November 2011. If your vehicle is right hand drive and your airbag light is illuminated, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It's helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) when you call.
Right hand drive vehicles, most often used by the Post Office, may be equipped with a steering column mounted clockspring assembly that could experience a compromised electrical circuit resulting in illumination of the airbag warning light. In the event of a crash, if the airbag warning light is illuminated, the driver's airbag may not deploy as expected. Failure of the driver's airbag to deploy increases the risk of personal injury. Dealers will perform the necessary repairs to correct this concern. The Chrysler recall number is L37.

CHRYSLER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2008-2012 RIGHT HAND DRIVE (RHD) JEEP WRANGLER VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM FEBRUARY 1, 2007, THROUGH OCTOBER 10, 2011.
