Jaguar XK Repair and Maintenance
A guide to problems, costs, maintenance and repair for your Jaguar XK
Jaguar XK Problems
The Check Engine Light may illuminate with fault codes P0491 or P0492 stored. Our technicians tell us that the engine control module (ECM) software should be upgraded to correct this concern.
A creak, click, or squeal type noise may be noted from the front brakes under light brake application. Our technicians tell us that lubing appropriate brake caliper and pad surfaces and installing new front brake pads should correct this concern.
Various issues with the door glass can be caused by the glass being out of adjustment, not a faulty window regulator. These issues include a knock, squeak, or binding condition when raising or lowering the door glass. Our technicians tell us that window adjustment should be checked first if any of these symptoms occur.

Jaguar XK Recalls
A software problem turns off the front parking lights (side lamps) after approximately 5 minutes in affected vehicles. These are an important part of keeping others aware of a driver's presence, and vehicle safety requires they remain lit while in use. Dealers will update software that controls the parking lights to correct this concern.
All late model vehicles are equipped with a tire pressure information label. These vehicles are being recalled because "none" may be indicated for the recommended spare tire pressure. As a result the spare tire may not be properly inflated and ready to use if the need arises. Dealers will inspect the affected vehicles and attach a new tire pressure label as necessary to correct this concern.
297 vehicles are being recalled because one or both rear tow adjustment links may come loose from the rear sub-frame. These adjustment links are used to help control rear wheel alignment. If a tow link were to come loose a loss of directional control could result, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the nut and washer assembly on the rear toe links to correct this concern.
