RepairPal Expert Overview
Our Quick Take:
The engine could stall unexpectedly due to a loose hose clamp in the air intake system.
What Should You Do?
Jaguar will notify owners beginning September 27, 2013. If don't receive notification and you feel you should, please contact your dealer for further instruction. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. The Jaguar recall number is J034.
One of the components of the engine air intake system is the Charge Air Cooler (CAC). The CAC cools the incoming air after it is compressed by the turbocharger. Special hoses connect the components of the intake system. These vehicles are being recalled because one of the hose clamps at the CAC may be out of position and loose, the hose may come off as a result. If the hose were to come off, the engine could stall, increasing the risk of a crash. Power assist for the brakes and steering would also be affected. Dealers will inspect the CAC hose clamp to make sure it is positioned and tightened correctly.
