2003 Volvo XC70 Question: Jack for car

Do I have to use the jack specific to my xc70 awd or can i use a compatible one that will support the car's weight?

    Safety is first. The jack for the car is designed for the car, and should support the weight and geometric mass of the vehicle.

    This is not to say no other jack can be used. However, if I was to err on the side of safety, I would only use the factory supplied jack or a large floor jack or other "generic" jack of multi purpose to lift the vehicle. As always if you lift the vehicle with a jack, secure it with jack stands while up in the air.
