Lately a few times all the lights on the cluster go on and all the gauges are pegged. Whacking the dash board cleared it up each time. I just wonder how involved a job it will be to really fix this. Thanks.

you either have a bad cluster or a loose connection somewhere...go to utube and find procedure for removing cluster!

Thanks. Will do. Have already checked the connection at the sensor on the outside of the transmission. I'll look for loose ones going into the cluster now.

You have to have a check engine light on. Have the vehicle scanned with a full enhanced scanner. Not just a code reader at a parts house.
