it won't start on 1997 Mercury Tracer

i was driving on the freeway when the car died i cheked for spark is ok chek timing belt ok i spray gas in to the intake but still will not start what should i do next?

how did you check spark??? what is the actual fuel pressure?? how did you verify the timing belt?? what was the compression?? Roy
