It' actually an '88 XR-7 with a 5.0 V8 on 1990 Mercury Cougar

In the Hayne's repair manual for this car it says that the lower ball joints aren't replacable and that the entire lower arm will need to be replaced! I went to 2 different auto parts stores and neither of them have the L.A. assembly BUT they both sell just the ball joints!! Am I about to waste my money by buying them??

around the bottom of the ball joint where the grease fitting is there is a clip ring all the way around it take that out and beet the ball joint out the other one goes right back in had to do it on my cougar thay are the same thing
