Vehicles currently registered or first sold in areas where salt is used to de-ice the roads are being recalled because excessive corrosion can develop near the forward mounting bracket for the left or right rear suspension lower link.
Isuzu will notify owners beginning December 2013. If you don't receive notification and you feel you should, please contact your dealer for further instruction. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call.
In states where deicing material is used for road surfaces, corrosion can build up on the rear suspension components, and cause a lower link bracket to break. This can cause adverse handling and result in loss of vehicle control.
Isuzu and Honda notified owners of affected vehicles starting in December 2010. You can check with your dealer to see if your vehicle is involved in this program. It is helpful to have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on hand when you contact them.
On certain vehicles, the brake warning light will not illuminate if the brake fluid level became low.
No action is required.
