Oil(fluid) leaking from driver side of car, was told rack n pinion needed replaced. Is this the same as the"front/upper control arm"?

    It can also be called a steering gear but the most common is rack and pinon . Jim

    no rack and pinion is not also called the upper control arm,, the upper and lower control arms are part of ALL car's suspenion system, the rack and pinion system is STEERING system,, it is what is attached to the wheels and allows you to move your wheels from right to left..
