I was pulling a 24ft.unloaded gooseneck stock trailer up a long grade and white smoke came out from underneath the motor and i lost pulling power. It seemed like burnt trans. fluid was leaking out from somewhere. We had a wrecker pull it into town and we had a mechanic take a look at it.He found out one baterry had two broken posts and we replaced that with a new one. He filled it up with transmission fluid and 1 qt. of lucas oil and we took it for a drive on the interstate and it ran fine.I left my trailer there and drove home 350 miles away without any problems. It does not seem like anything is wrong with it.Any comments or am i just a lucky man.
is there a sensor that shuts down the trans. if it overheats.i have a 2000 Ford F-350 on 2000 Ford F-350 Super Duty

how much flid did the trans take? that concerns me. with a load, you could be in the same boat again. the E4OD trans has a very bad reputation for reliability. from what you said, you did not find the reason for the breakdown. Roy
