Some days the idiot light comes on, other days its fine.

    Have abs system scanned to see where the trouble is first!

    Had Advance auto parts read the code as P0500, does that help?

    Trans. shifting ok? Speedo working ok? Which light comes on the abs?

    Shifts fine, speedo works, etf light on....engine light on, however it idles rough today and will not exceed 12-15 mph....you figure this out I'll email you a beer or three... :)...its my younger brother's car I'm just visiting....thanx so far for your help.

    As much as i would like to take you up on the beer or three, best thing to do is have a Volvo tech. scan it. Parts stores are just that!
    P0500 comes up vehicle speed sensor/circuit.
