how do you know when your fuel pump is bad?

    A bad fuel pump may set a Check Engine/Service Engine Soon light indicating a lean condition (it may be seen in engine trim data as High Fuel trim figures using a scan tool. The fuel pump is in the fuel tank, power and ground would need to be verified prior to condeming the fuel pump as bad. Fuel pressure and fuel pump delivery volume would also need to be verified.
